The Lamborghini Temerario has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Corvette doesn’t offer knee airbags.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Temerario. But it costs extra on the Corvette.

The Temerario offers an optional 360 degree parking monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Corvette only offers a rear monitor and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the front or sides.

Both the Temerario and Corvette offer Rear Cross Traffic Alert, but the Temerario with Rear Cross Traffic Alert also has automatic rear cross-traffic braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Corvette’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Temerario and the Corvette have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes and blind spot warning systems.

The Temerario comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Corvette’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Temerario’s corrosion warranty is 6 years and unlimited miles longer than the Corvette’s (12/unlimited vs. 6/100,000).

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Temerario for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Chevrolet only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Corvette.

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the Temerario has an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of some of the engines in the Corvette.

The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 418 more horsepower (908 vs. 490) and 125 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 465) than the Corvette’s standard 6.2 V8. The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 413 more horsepower (908 vs. 495) and 120 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 470) than the Corvette Z51’s standard 6.2 V8. The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 253 more horsepower (908 vs. 655) than the Corvette E-Ray’s standard 6.2 V8 hybrid.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Lamborghini Temerario higher (5 out of 10) than the Chevrolet Corvette (2 to 4). This means the Temerario produces up to 20.8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Corvette every 15,000 miles.

For better traction, the Temerario has larger tires than the Corvette (F:255/35R20 & R:325/30R21 vs. F:245/35R19 & R:305/30R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Temerario has standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Smaller 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are standard on the Corvette.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Temerario is 2.2 inches wider in the front and 1.5 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Corvette.

The Temerario’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (43.4% to 56.6%) than the Corvette’s (41.6% to 58.4%). This gives the Temerario more stable handling and braking.

The Temerario’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Corvette’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Temerario offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Corvette doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

The Lamborghini Temerario has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located for the driver. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Chevrolet charges extra for Homelink® on the Corvette.
