To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Temerario. But it costs extra on the AMG SL.

Both the Temerario and the AMG SL have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The Temerario comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The AMG SL’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Temerario’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the AMG SL’s (12 vs. 5 years).

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Temerario for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Mercedes doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the AMG SL.

The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 492 more horsepower (908 vs. 416) and 221 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 369) than the AMG SL 43’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid. The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 439 more horsepower (908 vs. 469) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 516) than the AMG SL 55’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Temerario’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 331 more horsepower (908 vs. 577) than the AMG SL 63’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Lamborghini Temerario higher (5 out of 10) than the Mercedes AMG SL (4). This means the Temerario produces up to 5.2 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the AMG SL every 15,000 miles.

For better traction and acceleration, the Temerario has larger rear tires than the AMG SL (325/30R21 vs. 285/40R19). The Temerario’s rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the AMG SL (325/30R21 vs. 305/30R21).

The Temerario’s 255/35R20 front and 325/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the AMG SL 43’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Temerario has standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the AMG SL 43.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Temerario is 2.3 inches wider in the front and 1.7 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the AMG SL.

For better maneuverability, the Temerario’s turning circle is 1.3 feet tighter than the AMG SL 55/63’s (39.4 feet vs. 40.7 feet). The Temerario’s turning circle is 3.3 feet tighter than the AMG SL 43’s (39.4 feet vs. 42.7 feet).

The Temerario’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The AMG SL does not have an oil pressure gauge.
